My proudest Healthy Bride Moment Yet!

Tonight was amazing!! It all started with Erin’s early arrival. She asked me if it was ok to end the class a few mintues early so that everyone could get to their end-of-session party. I made sure eveyone was invited and wholeheartedly agreed. It makes me feel so good that the group has bonded to the point that they go out together after class. What Erin also told me was that when Kjell found out that Karin (whos wedding in one week away) had not had a bachelorette party, she turned the casual get together into Karin’s Bachelorette party!
We had our usual last workout of the session, with two of the brides finishing up their fitness tests and then we headed out to run stairs. We finished the workout earlier than usual and per plan, were back to the studio at 7:45pm. When we arrived back, I asked for a few minutes to give out my graduation wishes to the 4 women leaving the program and then handed the “floor�? over to Kjell who pulled out the “activities sheet�? for the night.
Next, out came a tiara with veil, a white boa, an electric ring, beads, and then Michelle opened the cupcake sized box labeled “marzi tarts�?……(you all know the shape of the cake inside). Karin was shocked, overwhelmed and immediately burst into tears. She was so happy and so surprised! We took a few photos and out the door to the bar they went – in their sweaty workout wear.
Watching Karin, who was so happy to get to have a bachelorette party, and Kjell who thought of doing it, and the fact that every single person in the class participated in some way to make it happen – touched me deeply. I am so impressed how this group of women support, encourage, and help each other every week and in ways that go far beyond our class.
Thank you all for making tonight so special for Karin, and for me. You guys are amazing.
