Brook’s Wedding: Septeber 2005

Goals :

  • run the 3 mile Danskin Triathlon
  • exercise longer than 6 weeks at a time
  • maintain long term, healthier eating habits

Program:

  • 2 times per week, the Be Fit and Fabulous Group Workouts for Brides
  • weekly individual training with Christi
  • 1-2 times per week, workouts with friends (swim, stair walk/run, walk the dog)
  • participate in the Weight Watchers® "point" system

3 month progress report:

  • lost 26 pounds
  • can run 40 minutes without rest
  • lowered bra size from 44 to 38
  • wearing shorts for the first time since high school
  • finally "gets" the calories in vs. calories out recipe for weight loss success

Results:

I thought I'd let you know that I did great at the Triathlon and felt great afterwards... they already posted the times, and I wanted to share with you my difference from last year:

2004 - swim 33:28/bike 1:13:02/run 59:22/ total 2:58:50
2005 - swim 17:15/bike 53:09/run 40:18/ total 2:00:29 (My goal was 2 hours, so that was PERFECT)

I was able to complete about 2/3 of the run (I stopped to take walking breaks along the way), but still am very, very happy with how the whole thing went.

There is one short, very steep hill on the bike portion where I usually get off the bike and walk. This year I actually was able to make it all the way up - I almost started crying because I think I even surprised myself. It’s amazing what consistent activity and workouts will do to a girl, and I really can't thank you enough for a really great summer and the best training I have ever done.
