Colleen's Story
When Colleen first came to a Healthy Bride boot camp, she wanted to run 3 miles without stopping, learn healthy eating habits, learn how to workout correctly and to improver her relationship with her fiance by understanding his need to workout regularly. 6 months later, Colleen could easily run 3 miles without stopping and now she loves to run and go to the gym with her fiance (now, her husband). She went from a size 10 to a size 8 and lost 2 inches from her waist, abdomen and her hips!
In Colleen's Own Words:
When I joined The Healthy Bride Personal Training program 6 months before my wedding, my sole goal was to lose weight to look better in my wedding dress. What I got out of the program was so much more.First of all, I DID lose the weight I wanted. I lost 10 pounds and a dress size. I went from a size 10 to a size 8 and had to have the bodice of my dress taken in 2 inches (!!!) two weeks before my wedding. Post-wedding, the skills I learned from the Healthy Bride have helped me to continue a healthy and active lifestyle, and I have continued to lose weight and inches. Recently, I bought a pair of size 4 jeans in my usual brand and style.
Before the Healthy Bride, I could not run 10 minutes, and anything more than a short, flat hike left me breathless and exhausted. By my wedding, I could run 4 miles without stopping. A year later, I ran the Seattle Half-Marathon (13.1 miles!), and two years later I am have completed two triathlons and am planning to climb Mount Rainier!
My husband has always been active and loves sports and outdoor adventures. He plays racquetball competitively, runs, hikes, snowboards, and will try and succeed at pretty much any activity you throw at him. I was always sad that I couldn't keep up with him, and confused that he enjoyed pursuits that just made me sore and tired. The fitness I gained with Healthy Bride means that I can now share and, more importantly, enjoy his activities with him. We play tennis, hike, camp, and run together with our dog. We even lift weights at the gym together occasionally. Our relationship has improved so much now that we are able to share the activities that he loves. Additionally, I love it when he slaps my butt and tells me how sexy my new muscles are!
Leesa's Story
Leesa wanted to develop a regular exercise program, lose 10 pounds, and develop muscle tone in her arms. She lost 25 pounds, many inches, and her friends and family were amazed by her results.
