Greetings!

Hooray for daylight savings time! We now can go outside with all of our classes!

The Brides are off to a resounding start with everyone progressing toward their goals . Way to go everyone!

We are gearing up for Spring at the Healthy Bride and have lots of programs to read about...classes, a cleanse workshop....and more. Read on and enjoy all of our March sunlight!

Tacoma Schedule:
Get Fit, Feel Fabulous Workouts for Brides

Classes are a bootcamp style format in the great outdoors. Yes, we workout rain or shine - but the sun is out most of the time.....really! We rotate through strength and cardio exercises that includes lots of variety to keep you going! We do squats, lunges, pushups, jumping jacks......you get the idea. A great workout with lots of bridal bonding thrown in! Classes include a free gift for new brides!

Fit and Fabulous Workout - For all Women - aka "New Wives" or "Ms. Bootcamp.
This class is a circuit style format that will give you a full-body resistance workout with lots of cardio thrown in. We rotate through strength and cardio exercises that include lots of variety to keep you going! We do squats, lunges, pushups, jumping jacks......you get the idea. A great workout with amazing women to keep you motivated!

Hard Core is Back!!!
This is a class open to all women. Come enjoy an hour and a half of running, pushups, hills, trail runs, and more. We are outdoors rain or shine, and work hard for the full 1.5 hours. Must be able to run 3 miles at an average of 10 minutes per mile.

Spring Cleanse

Spring Cleanse

Spring is the time of renewal and abundance. Now is a good time to assess whether what we have been doing to nourish ourselves is really working. How do you feel? How do you look? Are you healthy? Our body is the result of our life. Our genetics, our upbringing, our lifestyle, our diet, our exercise levels, and our stresses are all influential. Even illnesses that we have had over time and how we went about treating them can be a factor. So what can you do? You can start with a positive attitude. Keep in mind that this is the only body you have, so you must think, "I love it, and I am going to take care of it. I want to feel good. I want energy. I want a clear head. I want happiness." You will likely eat better and exercise and make sure you get proper sleep and can deal with stressors. Attitude is really an important factor. When you commit to a spring cleanse your body will feel lighter and clearer. You will learn to shift the enjoyment of certain foods to the enjoyment of feeling good and healthy. Many people would eat a diet primarily made up of items that really do not warrant the title of food: processed, convenience foods, fast foods, cakes, cookies, sodas and chips. Those are not foods we should be eating. When you start having these foods everyday you become dependent on them. You need them for energy or for relaxation. I will help you create a new, healthy relationship with these things, and to do that, you need to be able to break yourself of them and see what you are doing. Most of us should be focusing on vegetables, fruits, proteins, whole grains, beans, nuts and seeds; items I like to refer to as whole foods to offer them the distinction they deserve........read more

Jennifer will guide you in setting up your own cleanse. We will map out what you want from your own cleanse, she will give you specific tactics to follow and help you achieve your own cleanse goals.

We will end with some yoga poses and abdominal breathing that help with cleansing the GI.

Meet our New Instructors

 

Welcome Linda and Ruthie
Ruthie(l)Linda(R)

Ruthanne Naranjo - Instructor - Seattle Women's Class and Couples Class:

An outdoor fitness instructor and personal trainer, Ruthanne has taught classes in Seattle and on the east side since 2004. Her classes promote group energy as a fun and dynamic tool to optimize individual improvement. She is an ACE certified personal trainer and is studying for ACSM certification. Ruthanne runs half marathons, sprint distance triathlons, and enjoys biking and snowshoeing.

She is a clinical research associate at the UW and has a degree in Geology from Macalester College in St. Paul Minnesota. She ran the Paris Marathon for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in 2006.

Linda Mackay - Bellevue Class Instructor


Linda holds an NSCA Certified Personal Trainer certificate, is a mother of two, and grandmother of four grandsons. Linda learned about weight lifting at the age of 14 in High School from her teacher.

She has always loved physical activity and eating right. When she was 19 she worked as an assistant manager for a Fitness company and knew that fitness would be her future.

While raising her two children Linda stayed active with running, weight lifting and her children's sporting activities. After her children were grown, Linda decided to go back to night school to become a personal trainer, A DREAM COME TRUE!

Since that day Linda has been training clients on a one on one basis. Linda is very excited to lead the Healthy Bride Workouts for Brides in Bellevue. "I am looking forward to working hard, having fun, and helping each one of you to accomplish your goals!"
