October 2006
|
The end of one season, the beginning of another
|
| |
Hi Everyone,
Here we are in October....a time of year that often
allows us a moment to reflect. January we started
classes at Donaldson Fitness. We then moved to
The Smith Tower and shortly there-after weddings
began. First was Erin and on we went from there.
Summer was chock full of bachelorette parties and
showers with weddings sprinkled along the way.
It was a great summer, with fabulous weather, fun
races (Nordstrom Beat the Bride) and runs (Here Runs
the Bride) while all of you were changing before our
eyes!
Congratulations! to all of you. I cannot tell you how
proud I am of your transformations. Wow!
spectacular! Phenomenal! Your photos are amazing!
Please keep up the great work and thank you all for
working with The Healthy Bride! We are honored by
your achievements and thank you for choosing to
share this special time in your life with us.
Best,
Christi, Karen and Brooke

The Diva Dash and Seattle Half Marathon |
|
|
|
|
Be there!
In order to stay focused and motivated, I challenge
everyone to run (or walk) either the 5K Diva Dash or
for those of you looking for something longer the
Seattle 1/2 Marathon.
The Diva Dash is on December 2nd, 2006 and is held
at Seward Park at 9am. It's a very fun, very cute
5K. There will be more details next month, but it's
not too soon to start training - especially if it's your
first race. The Healthy Bride is a sponsor, monies go
to a great organization "Girls on the Run". Let's get a
group and run as brides! Go to www.divadash.com
for more information.
The Seattle Half Marathon is a great way to work off
that Thanksgiving Day meal! The race is on Sunday,
November 26, 2006 at 7:30am.
So far we have Christi, Rae, Naomi, Becky, and
Annika committed. Join us!
For more information/registration: www.seattle
marathon.org
Bottom line: You will want to start your training now
for the 5k, and you really should already be running
at least 5 miles at one time to get to 13 by next
month.
Check out The Healthy
Bride Blog for training tips and suggestions.

New!
The New! Healthy Bride Herbal Supplements have
arrived!
Each was specially developed for brides by Karen
Seibert, our fabulous nutritionist.
Anxiet-Ease
Don’t leave home without this calming, soothing and
relaxing herbal blend. This formula blends St. John’s
Wort an herb that helps to support a positive mood,
with Vanuatu Kava, which is known to relax the mind
and clarify thought processes. Anxiet-Ease can be
used for calming the nerves that may arise during the
hectic pre-wedding planning phase. Our special
blend supports deep mental and physical relaxation,
while it focuses and calms the mind. Can be used
in larger amounts for situational stress, or daily for
ongoing support. (Night Blooming Cereus, Vanuatu
Kava Root, St. John’s Wort Flowers, Lobelia Herb,
Pulsatilla Herb) *Not appropriate for use during
pregnancy.
Blood Sugar Balancer
The key to weight loss is balancing blood sugar. This
herbal formula supports blood sugar balance, by
supporting optimal adrenal function. Prolonged stress
may inhibit the adrenal glands’ ability to balance
blood sugar. This herbal blend combines Devil’s Club
Root Bark, a blood sugar balancer, with a dose of
Licorice Root, an adrenal gland tonic and liver
supportive herb. In addition, Eleuthero Root helps to
diminish the harmful effects of mental and physical
stress by enhancing general health. Blood Sugar
Balancer provides resistance to daily stress as well
as healthy hormonal balance. (Licorice root,
Eleuthero Root, Devil’s Club Root Bark, Dandelion
Root, Sarsaparilla Root, Ginger Root) * Not
appropriate for use during pregnancy.
Women’s Energy Balance
Who doesn’t need more energy and balance when
planning a wedding? Our Women’s Energy Balance
formula contains Dong Quai Root and Chaste Tree
Berry to harmonize hormones and Ashwagandha and
American Ginseng for sustained energy. Damiana
soothes the nervous system and helps to alleviate
moodiness. This herbal combination provides energy
as well as endurance, while lifting overall mood.
(Dong Quai Root, Ashwagandha Root, Damiana Leaf,
Gotu Kola Leaf, Chaste Tree Berry, American
Ginseng) *Not appropriate for use during pregnancy.
Men’s Energy Balance
Groom’s---This ones for you! This herbal
combination is specially formulated to help you adapt
to any situation. Men’s Energy Balance contains
American Ginseng and Eleuthero Root, which support
physical, emotional and mental energy for an active
schedule. This herbal blend also supports stamina,
endurance and energy and promotes overall
resistance to daily stress. Saw Palmetto and zinc
are added for prostate health with a dose of Gingko
leaf for memory and circulation. (American Ginseng
Root, Eleuthero Root, Saw Palmetto Berry, Reishi
Mushroom, Schizandra Berry, Fresh Ginkgo Leaf and
Zinc chelate.)
